A driving song set to the tune of Donna e mobile (almost)

Written after driving down the M6 onto the M5 and watching a taxi that had almost gone past the slip road, decide to stop in the centre lane, wait until the inside lane is clear and then do a right angled turn across that lane onto the slip road.  A lorry swerve all over the lanes as the driver struggles with a stubborn bottle cap and so on and so on and so on.
All well behaved in this picture

Morons are out today,
Lots more than yesterday,
I think that I must say,
They should be put away.
-
Keep clear my braking zone,
Please all just go on home,
You are not fit to roam,
Put them all away,
All away,
All away,
Put the morons all a-way.

  1. Snafu, I didn't know you were into opera - that is quite an aria! But I do know what you mean. We have laws here against 'distracted driving,' which would cover what you mentioned and I am sure, much more. It used to be that when you saw a car weaving across the lanes, the driver was drunk - now it might be a woman applying her eye makeup with one hand and driving with the other! There was a recent case in the States where a woman was actually driving whilst posting on Facebook....something about "feeling happy today." One minute later she crashed her car and was killed.

  2. Couldn't agree more. You'll be pleased to know (or not) that most of them were on their way to the M1 where I encountered them too.

70mph with a phone clamped to their ear? Round here we call them 'organ donors'.
